About the Artist

My name is Alyona Siergieieva. I am a Swedish artist, born in Ukraine and based in Malmö.

I work primarily with acrylic painting, exploring self-discovery, identity, emotion and the space between what we show on the surface and what we carry within.

For me, painting is a way of paying attention. I often begin with a feeling, a question or an image without knowing exactly where it will lead. I work through layers, details and changes until something in the painting feels recognisable — until I reach the moment when I know: yes, this is it.

Painting has accompanied me through many different chapters of my life. Over time, painting has become a way for me to understand myself better and express things that are sometimes difficult to put into words.

I bring my own meaning into every work, but I don’t want that meaning to become an instruction. I hope the paintings leave enough space for you to notice what you recognise within them.

Designfull grew from this way of creating — a world built around art, attention and the invitation to look a little closer.
